(Senior) Test Engineer

Onze opdrachtgever Midtronics B.V. is een toonaangevende leverancier gespecialiseerd in accumanagement met als doel de levensduur van accu’s te verlengen en om vroegtijdig eventuele problemen te traceren. Hun klanten bevinden zich vooral in de automotive industrie . In Houten bevindt zich het EMEA hoofdkantoor. Het moederbedrijf is gevestigd in de US. Zij beschikken over een innovatieve R&D afdeling die ervoor zorgt dat de continuïteit van de organisatie voor de toekomst kan worden gewaarborgd en dat Midtronics mee kan in de zich snel ontwikkelende technologie.

Als Test Engineer maak je onderdeel uit van de global afdeling engineering. In Houten bestaat de afdeling engineering uit 8 specialisten binnen de disciplines software development, software testing en application engineering. In deze functie ben je verantwoordelijk voor het testen en valideren van software voor het aansturen van accutesters en diagnostische laders.

Omdat de Engelse taal erg belangrijk is voor deze positie schakelen we hier dan nu ook in over:

Test and verify new product specifications as well as enhancements to existing specifications. Provide support to both the sales team and the end customer in conjunction with the product management team. Direct interaction with sales leaders and engineers throughout the world.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Test and verify new product specifications (both SW & HW-SW interaction) as well as enhancements to existing specifications
• Provide support to both the sales team and the end customer in conjunction with the product management team
• Direct interaction with sales leaders, customers and engineers throughout the world
• Test and verify custom software to make sure new and existing products meet design specifications
• Identify enhancements that can be made to the software to increase efficiency and portability
• Prepare test documentation that includes high level test design, test plan and test reports
• Provide status reports on progress of test execution and problem resolution
• Work with sales, marketing and customers to create product specifications, create timelines and provide technical support
• Perform field and customer visits to gather feedback and determine the effectiveness of our tools and to keep current on the latest technologies
• Demonstrate desire for continuous improvement and advancing quality

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or software engineering or equivalent
• Skilled in the English language (verbal, reading and writing) is a must, Dutch and German are a plus
• 3-5 years of experience developing and executing manual and automated test cases
• Experience using JIRA and TestRail is a plus
• Experience with embedded C programming and testing is a plus
• Experience with test automation and creating test scripts is a plus
• The test engineer can set up test scenarios and risk-based testing
• A good understanding of Scrum and how a Scrum tester works is a big plus.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects, making sure that all deadlines are met
• Ability to work in a global team environment and interact with engineers in several locations around the world
